There's a famous quote from designer Bunny Williams, "If you love something, it will work. That's the only real rule." Red Door Project is built on that one, guiding principle. Crafting bespoke spaces that people love. And doing it with unbridled passion.
Dan Reilly's construction career can be traced back to LEGO on the lounge room floor. (While other kids were building spaceships, Dan was remodeling tiny kitchens). Over the last 20 years, he's established himself as a leader in the construction industry – first as a qualified carpenter, then as a site foreman, project manager and certified Master Builder. His LEGO skills are still top notch.
His partner in business, and in life, is Dani Wales. The other half of Red Door Project. A qualified interior design expert, whose aesthetic flair (and slightly obsessive attention to detail) have helped shape the Australian home and lifestyle landscape; first as a two-time contestant on The Block and then as co-host of Channel 10's Healthy Homes.
Red Door Project began, as these things do, with a renovation. Since transforming their own home, in Melbourne's inner-west, Dan and Dani have worked on dozens of properties—earning qualifications, gaining experience and making invaluable industry contacts. The sort you can't just find on Google.
After all these years, their ethos remains the same. Dan and Dani treat every Red Door project as if they were working on that very first property, back in Melbourne's inner-west. Nothing's signed off until it's perfect. The job's only finished when the client's popping the champagne. It's a hands-on approach to construction and design. A long-term love affair.
